Screen printing vs. Digital printing

Screen printing and digital printing are two popular methods for customizing products, but they work in different ways and are best suited for different types of designs.

Screen Printing

  • Uses stencils (screens) to apply layers of ink onto the material.
  • Best for bulk orders because it becomes more cost-effective with larger quantities.
  • Produces vibrant, long-lasting colors, especially on dark fabrics.
  • Works best for simple designs with fewer colors.

Digital Printing (DTG – Direct-to-Garment)

  • Works like a regular printer but prints directly onto the fabric.
  • Great for detailed, multi-color designs or small-batch orders.
  • Ideal for complex artwork, gradients, and photographic images.
  • Softer feel on the fabric since the ink soaks into the material.

Key Difference

  • Screen printing is best for bold, simple designs and large orders.
  • Digital printing is ideal for detailed, colorful designs and smaller runs.
